Ovechkin signs in Washington or retires to the KHL, and I don't think that trade is close to enticing enough for Samsonov.

I think you know that that trade is nowhere close and makes no sense for the caps. Imagine calling up our GM to say “hey, can you help us clear some cap space so we can sign your franchise player? Thanks.”
