You're turning the leafs into a seller by trading good players for picks, there is no chance leafs r getting rid of Holl, Mikheyev, and Marner in one offseason. Also Hyman is signing at least a $5m AAV for a lot of term, offering him $4m is a joke. Vancouver will not take this deal. Hamilton has said he doesn't want to come to the Canadian market.

"Is Podkolzin much better than Logan Brown?"

Is a question that this site brings into my mind

Here they are compared by NHLe (VP/LB)

    DY 10/20
    D+1 15/20
    D+2 15/25
    D+3 ?/25
    D+4 ?/30

NHLe in itself a very strong predictor of success

Naturally just a key facet but at the end of the day:

Idk if Podky is *that* much better than Logan Brown

Dougie is getting at least $8 mil. Stay away from Brock and Podz there. Marner is great but that contract is extravagant. And will people let the legal process finish with Virtanen before factoring him in please?

Why does Pittsburgh come off a division winning season, with aging superstars, that have contracts that are running out, trade a top 6, that is 25 years old, for a late 2nd round pick?? Anything else they can do for the Leafs??

I still don’t think so. Pens don’t want draft picks or prospects.

You’ll see with having Matthews and Marner. Although prospects development and drafting is important, competing for playoffs every season it’s not the organization priority.

Dubas did the right thing trading that 1st for renting Foligno.

And that’s ok, when Sid and Geno go. Trade all assets, tank for 3 seasons, rebuild and start trading those draft picks again.

Look if it was EDM or something I'd be like fine, a 2nd.
But after that Kap trade, for TOR, it's a 1st + hallander back.
Otherwise, we can find someone else.
