Draisaitl will only sign for five years.... He's not going to give up that many UFA years without more money.

The signings: Drai would be in that 6 - 6.5 mill for 8 years; Oshie, I think would be asking for 6 to 7 around the same term of 6 or 7, Boyle and Johnson are both nice signings. But theses signing can only happen if the trades do.

RNH trade makes sense and i do like it.

Duchene for me would play center keeping Drai on the wing with mcdavid bringing lucic up to the second line with drai and presumably oshie.
BUT the Duchene trade to make would have to be slightly changed because we could only dream that GK takes Poo and leave Davidson... and I don't know about trading one of our best defensive prospects in Caleb Jones. I mean did you see him at the world junior tournament? He's going to be a force to be reckoned with..... him and nurse

I actually really like all of those trades and signings. I think the trades are more than fair value, and the signings are definitely a fair estimate for the players. I'd even sign Russell to another one year deal so it added depth when injuries inevitably hit.

The only question would be if Chia would want to change the makeup of the team that drastically even though they are having success now.

In theroy the only changes being made are really just swapping Duchene for Nuge, Ebs for Oshie, Davidson for Ellis, Poo for Boyle, and adding Johnson
