Minny and Vancouver

Created by: Lenny54
Team: 2021-22 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 19, 2021
Published: Jun. 19, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
In the Reinhart trade if Vancouver needs some cap relief they can send Virtanen if need be. This isn't a TDL trade so teams have time to smooth out any cap issues

With the draft capital the Sabres have accumulated with trades they can now work on trades to fill in the holes left at RHD and goaltending. Maybe the move Dahlin to RD if Power decides to turn pro. For the sake of this AG lets assume he turns pro. They can also explore free agency to fill the holes.

Trades
1.
BUF
  1. Boldy, Matthew
  2. Fiala, Kevin [RFA Rights]
  3. 2021 1st round pick (MIN)
  4. 2022 1st round pick (MIN)
MIN
  1. Eichel, Jack
  2. Ristolainen, Rasmus ($2,400,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Money should work as Dumba's 6 mil is traded plus Fiala would be getting a nice raise.
2.
BUF
  1. Höglander, Nils
  2. 2021 2nd round pick (VAN)
  3. 2022 2nd round pick (VAN)
Additional Details:
I don't think Van wants to trade their 1st but they have to give up something good in a trade for Reinhart and I'm sure he will be an easy signing as a hometown kid. Sending Virtanen slightly helps with cap relief in signing Reinhart
VAN
  1. Reinhart, Sam [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
I patterned this trade off the Mantha to Washington trade.
Det received Vrana
2021 1st #23
2022 2nd

Mantha and Reinhart have almost identical stats but Reinhart offers flexibility to move to center
Panik as cap relief

Canucks arent trading a cost controlled top six forward for an expensive top 6 forward even if its an upgrade. They broke.

Hoglander may already be the better 5 v 5 player by next season.

The Minnesota trade doesn't work. You can't just hand wave it and say Dumba will be traded elsewhere. Also, Risto coming back does nothing for us. He would just be blocking prospects especially if we can't get a Dumba deal done elsewhere.
