Van declines. A rental isnt worth that much. If he came with an extension thats something else.

Hamilton will never play in Toronto (and can you blame him)
      Granlund will get more
      Goodrow will get more
Unless your a doctor, I don’t trust Raanta to stay healthy
Just don’t sign Dougie and up the other FA contracts. I’d love to add both Goodrow and Granlund

yeah it doesn't make sense for them to get Rielly because they aren't a contender but there's been reports saying if the Leafs do trade Rielly it would cost at least a first and a "highly touted prospect".

Yes, Vancouver declines because they aren't a contender but a rental of Rielly's calibre is worth much more than just a first especially if you trade him during the offseason before the trade deadline.

Savard and Foligno both got a first when they were traded at the deadline.

Savard and foligno got late 1sts (both were probably gonna be bottom 4 picks) while this is a top 10 pick. Plus prices go up by the tdl.

I agree about it makes no sense seeing Vancouver is not a contender . Same as Toronto dumping him seeing they are not a contender either, Good luck with the trade.
