Anaheim doesn’t do that deal. There’s no way. That’s way too much to give up.

Then idk what to tell them, if they don't want to give up Zegras or Drysdale, they are gonna have to pay a premium

No, we're NOT going to have to pay a premium -- we're just going to say No.

Jack Eichel hasn't accomplished anything more than accompany Buffalo to the absolute bottom of the league. What makes you think adding him to the SECOND-worst team in the league, while subtracting other major assets from it, is going to dramatically improve Anaheim?!?

Ur not going to "drastically improve" Anaheim without giving up value. We don't have to trade him to another struggling franchise and I'm sure Eichel would be ok with that

You didn't answer the question. This isn't an issue of getting Eichel for free, or even on the cheap. The question I asked and you dodged is whether adding Eichel at the expense of numerous other major assets is going to make any dramatic improvement on what is now the second-worst team in the league.

I think you're underestimating how good Eichel is. Yeah, I'd argue he still would. With this deal your still shedding some cap and can sign UFA wingers. Secure a Franchise center with Zegras and worry about the rest later

See, I'm not a big believer in the "wave the magic wand" theory of asset management -- make some moves, and then just "sign [some] UFA wingers." Aside from the fact that the suggested transaction adds about $3 million to our cap (instead of "shedding it," as you say), signing two valuable UFA wingers would add yet another $10 million or more to our cap.

I'm perfectly happy with Max Comtois as our #1 LW. I don't have to worry if the guy we sign to replace him will turn into the next Jeff Skinner.

I'm perfectly happy with Max Jones as our #3 LW. I don't have to worry if the guy we sign to replace him for $5 million AAV will turn into the next Jason Zucker.

I'm perfectly happy with getting a reasonable return from trading Rickard Rakell and Sam Steel. I'd be satisfied if between them they brought a mid-round first and some extras.

And I'm REALLY happy at the thought of adding what could be a franchise player like Kirby Dach or Miro Heiskanen with our third-overall selection in this year's draft.

I'm not underestimating how good Jack Eichel is. On the contrary, I think he's so good that we can't afford him.
