My assessment is accurate he is lazy and at best he is immature and I wouldn't touch him if I were Ron Francis. He's quit on TB and seems to have quit on Montreal.

I'd separate what happened in TB and MTL. In TB he definitely quit on the organization, but in MTL following the announcement of Drouin's indefinite leave for personal reasons, the comments from Ducharme and Danault suggest that this is not the TB situation.

Maybe Seattle believes Drouin could thrive following a change of scenery or perhaps they think they could trade him for other assets down the line.
