It is going to hurt. But that offer is way too much. After all, Eichel's value is at an all-time low. Nobody knows how,or if, his neck will heal, and it has been widely reported he wants out of Buffalo. Plus, after next season, his NMC kicks in, so this summer is the last possible chance to trade him without Eichel deciding his new address.

His neck is fine. Sabres doctors say he doesn't need surgery, and they're some of the best in professional sports. Same doctors that work with the Bills. They're highly recognized and have won numerous awards.

This never been done before surgery is likely just an attempt to gain some leverage in the situation by Jack. Also, why the team seems to be so fed up with him and want him gone.

None of that determines his TRADE VALUE though
That’s determined by how many teams want him & will be bidding…. And there’s a bunch

Sorry to break it to you, but you won't get a king's ransom for Eichel. Rossi will be included for sure, but not Fiala, Dumba, and Greenway with it. More likely you'll be looking at Rossi, 2021 1st, 2022 1st and maybe another conditional pick and Victor Rask.

Actually, we pretty much know he won't get a king's ransom. Namely because no one knows how his neck will handle rehab/surgery. He also has a long injury list. Great player, won't get king's ransom.

I don’t think you KNOW what the word “know” means dude
You’re making an assumption
And your assumptions have absolutely ZERO VALUE to me
So thanks for your arrogance, but you actually DON’T KNOW what’s gonna happen
Bye now

Okay but even if it is fine, but Eichel is still adamant about this surgery, that still certainly factors into trade value. Even if its entirely made up for leverage purposes as you mentioned that will factor into trade value also. No matter how you spin this its a negative in his trade value. He's still going to be worth a lot, but the Sabres and the league know he isn't going to bring in the pieces that he should be worth given his talent level.

Correction, the surgery has been done before, but not on an active athlete in a contact sport. This is why Sabres don't want him to get it which isn't unreasonable at all.
