Description

Just the VGK v MTL trade, not the rest. Just thought I'd post it on here to get more opinions on it lol

As a Habs fan, my basic instinct is no way. KK is almost 5 years younger, and his next contract will be a lot cheaper than Tuch's imo in a flat cap world (although Tuch's contract is really good..), and I'm not all eager yet to start moving Center's considering how long it took MTL to finally get some good ones. not to mention Habs are already incredibly deep on the wing... although with Drouin all but gone from the team, Tuch would instantly fit on the team identity Bergevin is building....could you imagine Tuch and Anderson on the same line...... :0

At the other end though I can see why VGK would have no interest in letting someone like Tuch go. Who, at this point of his career, is clearly better than KK. but again Vegas is being offered a young CHEAP talented Centermen, which might be enticing enough to let him go.

I'm going to stick with a "No thanks" from the Habs side. But I can definitely see arguments that can be made for or against on both sides.

alex tuch is a 2nd line player at best. i understand the reasoning, but habs have no need for him. but we do have a need for good young centers. if anything, size and speed haven't been an issue for the habs upfront. we can't just toss around an elite growing talent like KK

Drouin (and his cap hit) would have to be gone, Danault would need to be re-signed, Habs would have to be really comfortable with Evans as their #3C, or be convinced Poehling can take the next step in the next year or 2.
