Flames dont need another LD

Gaudreau is a very talented player but I'd say Slavin alone has more value.

It doesn't matter that Flames don't need another LD. Slavin is better than anything you got on your team. CAR rejects this trade based on the facts that:
1) Hamilton probably won't be back
2) Slavin is signed to a long term team friendly contract
3) CAR is giving up the most valuable player in the trade AND getting the better pick.

As a Flames fan, you should be jumping on this. This improves your team immensely.

Gaudreau and the pick wouldn't get Slavin alone so I wouldn't worry.

You're barking up the wrong tree. Or at least at the wrong squirrels. Slavo himself is worth easily as much if not more than Gaudreau.

Flames decline they need offense more than defense

Canes would laugh the Flames off the phone, not a chance they take Gaudreau for Slavin straight up

They’d be insane to decline a legit #1 dman with term on a team friendly deal for Johnny Gaudreau. Love Johnny but come on

I strongly disagree. Gaudreau is great but if he was that franchise piece that would make the Flames win more, he would have done it already. I think it's time for a shakeup for the Flames and who knows, maybe Johnny Hockey exceeds expectations and puts up 100 points or more, but what's clear is that Johnny and Calgary aren't going to be together for much longer.
