If they want Gardiner, let them take Gardiner, but why lose the 1st? Just keep Gardiner and let them take Skjei. Both are horror shows in their own zone and Gardiner has more offensive upside.

smart to give that first to SEA to get rid of gardiner. the first is practically useless. the ardvidsson deal is a good trade, but it’s just if NSH wants to move him even with his recent struggles. being able to keep bean is big and getting ned/svech on a beige deal is smart for both sides. Interesting to see Mrazek back. Bringing back Hakanpaa is a good decision too imo. but my favorite is bringing in savard. someone who’s good defensively, can be physical, and has good awareness in all 3 zones. plus he can create offense when needed. good off seasons for CAR if this would result. can make them a contender for the cup for real.

There is no way Seattle willingly takes Gardiner over Skjei or Bean (whoever we dont protect). Throwing a 1st round pick at Seattle to pick Gardiner will not only keep those two defenders I mentioned, but it also frees up cap space for someone like Victor Arvidsson.

Why isn’t Svechnikov on either power play unit? Also I would see Mrazek leaving to be a starter somewhere else. Canes will look for a cheap backup veteran goalie to help mentor Ned. If they resign one of their UFA goalies it will most likely be Reimer. Halak would also be a viable option.

Oops forgot about Svech. Remove Lorentz and put him either on the 2nd unit or put him on the first unit and move Turbo down. As for Mrazek, it all depends on what he wants. If he wants to be starter, he can go. If he wants to win, then maybe he takes a deal like this. This is just something I realistically think Carolina could do.

Remove Lorentz and shift trocheck down and replace trocheck with Svechnikov.

Still need a top 6 scoring winger. Wouldn’t sign Ginner at that AAV. Likely let him move on if he fetches that in FA and see if Jarvis is ready. Same thought with Foegs. Use the savings and get yourself that top 6 wing.

Foegele, McGinn, Bean, and Hakanpaa are all overpaid here.
