I think the Isles take the first and hope Florida misses the playoffs next year in the Atlantic.

Florida isn’t missing the playoffs and the isles are a win now team, they’re not losing their best winger

They can. Varlamov and Leddy trade frees up 10.5 mill

Florida could in theory miss. All it takes is Tampa, Boston and Toronto to clinch and then Isles, Caps, Pens, Canes and then it’s a toss up for the last spot between Florida, Montreal and Flyers.

Florida has a great team and great coaching. If lundell plays he could win rookie of the year

Guess we’ll have to see. Still have to worry about Montreal as well. The east has gotten better and I have a feeling we’ll see a surprising miss or two next year.

Knight could easily struggle due to youth

Bob could very well be ~.900 again

Seems totally possible

Bob could also have a bounce back year and be in the vezina conversation, you never know with goalies. I'd bet on one of knight/bob being above average.

I never meant that as a knock to Florida, but more of a you never know what can happen.

The Isles are currently one of the most adversarial teams hockey history towards skilled young wingers... there is nothing sacred with them in that sense

Bellows getting treated like flotsam & jetsam
Wahlstrom getting scratched for Komarov
We all know what happened to Ho-Sang

I wouldn't be surprised if they traded Beauvillier for Christian Fischer and Lawson Crouse this offseason for instance; they'd get a 1st and third back here

Bob is almost half a decade removed from being even just above average and he's now the 15th oldest G in the league... almost certainly not in his prime

It's getting ugly with him

Just saying it's very possible ✔

I know how prospects are treated, beauvillier is 24 and is in his 5th season. Much different , Trotz trusts him in all situations and he is just as important to the isles as Barzal. I don't like Lou or Trotz but you're reaching here.

crazier things have happened. I'd bet that one of them will have a good season and zito is smart enough to make a good in season trade for an undervalued goalie if things aren't working out. Florida will make the playoffs next season. The F and D core are very good.

also beauvillier is the same age as both Fischer and Crouse lol - beauvillier is a gritty two way forward who forechecks well and can score, which is the exact type of player lou and trotz covet..
