The Jets Bright Future

Created by: arman2002k
Team: 2021-22 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 21, 2021
Published: Jun. 21, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
With the prime additions of Jones, Gustafson, Perfetti, Coleman, Cole, and Heinola. The team finally becomes not only younger but more stacked, especially with the blueline which needed it the most. This team would be big, fast, and young. Perhaps even strong enough to contend for a Stanley Cup. Anyways, here’s a realistic outlook of what the Winnipeg Jets team may look like come next year. I’m sure Seth Jones is high on Jets target list for next year.

2022 draft is one of the better classes in a while. Not sure why you’d give that 1st up. 2021 is a crap shoot. Might be easier to do that. However, I understand if you don’t want them loading up and having more power and bargaining tools.

Why does cbj do this. We get a first , an average middle age defenseman and a third. We’d want a first a high end prospect
And a 2nd. Which is according to reports ( a reasonable ask).

A few challenges.

Cap will be 81.5M. Pionk will sign for 5M+, even a short 2-3 year deal. Copp will sign for high 3 low to mid 4. Coleman should also be in the high 3s, not sure he’ll get into the 4s with a flat cap.

Jones won’t come cheap, other poster is correct, needs a prospect, not a #4/5 veteran Dman.

On the positive side: Little will be on LTIR, it buried in minors (no cap hit if rest of roster exceeds 81.5M)

Stanley will sign for less.
