Description
So the sabres are still in rebuild mode for this scenario. This is not going to be the most attractive destination for free agents so don't hold your breath for any splash signings whether or not UFA or RFA. Next years draft is said to be the next generational talent draft and with as bad as buffalo will likely be, AGAIN, it wouldn't be worth offers getting any big names when they could land a kid on the cheap while building depth this year. This simulation allows buffalo to come away with 5 total 1st round picks allowing them flexibility to accumulate talent. They can move up in the draft if they like a guy or stay put and take all 5 picks. I would feel with as bare as the cupboards are in buffalo that they would be wise to take all 5 picks. Early targets include Power, Beniers, Eklund, Guenther and Mctavish. Later prospects include L'Heureux, Pastujov, Cossa and Olausson. What allows buffalo to do this is sending Eichel to CBJ for this years 3 1sts and their top prospect Liam foudy. Wherein they can still acquire 3rd overall from ANA without acquiring Zegras in exchange for Reino and Risto. Sign a couple depth ufas to meet the cap floor and allow the youth movement to commence.

Anaheim has said Drysdale is of the table for Eichel why would he be available for Reinhart?

Whether you believe the reports of Drysdale (and Zegras) being off the table for Eichel

It is 100% confirmed they were off the table for PLD, if they were off the table for PLD, Reinhart and Risto dont get close to getting him

Ducks dont trade just Drysdale for those 2, let alone Steel and 3OA

Lolz at thinking that 1 year of Reinhart gets you anything close to Drysdale, let alone Steel and 3OA included.

We wouldn't trade Drysdale and the third overall in this year's draft for Reinhart even if he came with a seven-year contract at $3 million per year.

What in the world were you thinking?

In effect you have CBJ giving 4 first rounders for Eichel. No way CBJ does that. They can spend 10m on UFA and keep their picks. Eichel isn't getting nearly that return.
Reinhart has to be a sign and trade as you suggest to get his best return. But the return you suggest is too high. Risto and his one year remaining could be sent to a contender who needs a RHD for best return
