Rangers decline. Miller/Buch are the 2 biggest pieses and both going to Toronto. Rielly knees are shot and we're going to see a VERY big decrease in his production as soon as next year. Sandin has already tooking his PP1 mins. Also he only has one more year left on his contract so he could easily play one year with the Rangers and then sign back with Toronto next summer. His value is low. Rangers fans don't see all the hype Toronto fans give Robertson so we don't value him as much as you do. Georgiev is a potentially #1 goalie and you give back Hutchinson which is an insult. 23 year old Gauthier cieling is so much higher then 25 year old Engvall and the matter of fact Gauthier is about to have a break out year next year. So as you see the trade is VERY heavily one side towards Toronto and Rangers easily delcine.

Can’t think of a reason why NYR would even entertain this call

Dude, the Leafs fans on here think Reilly is gold and every trade he's in is a massive return.

Not that I think that the Rangers should take this, because they definitely shouldn't, but I just wanted to point out a few flaws in your line of thinking...
-Sandin is an RFA after next year, not a UFA. Could he sign an offer sheet? Sure...but I'm pretty sure the Leafs wouldn't have the funds to make that happen.
-Rielly's knees are so bad that he put up one his best possession seasons, put up the 2nd highest ATOI of his career, and put up the 2nd best point per game numbers of his career. Guy is a bummmm!
-I agree on Robertson.
-Georgiev has put up league average numbers through his career. League average.
-"23 year old Gauthier cieling is so much higher then 25 year old Engvall and the matter of fact Gauthier is about to have a break out year next year". Gauthier is a 4th liner who throws his body around. Doesn't exactly scream "Breakout candidate!". Engvall is an overpaid 13th forward.

So many untrue absolute statements in here, stupid trade for sure but half of what you say is just made up.

And the Pens think that Mike Matheson has value. I guess nobody is perfect...

As a non-Leafs fan who rarely defends them, I'm not sure what's wrong with expecting a decent return for a solid defenceman who was on pace for 63 pts (2nd best of his career), plays 23 minutes a night, and is only going to cost $5 mil this season.

Well explained, thanks for the discourse.

Hutchinson is purely a throw away. It allows you to protect Kinkaid who i thought was well regarded. TO could offer sheet Buch for a 1st and 2nd. Obviously NY would match, hence Robertson who's better than a 2nd. Miller, i valued at a 2nd.. maybe low? Depends how he develops. Georgiev walks next year when Sherishtien signs big. This ensures a return.

No, we really don't think Matheson has value. In any trade I put him in I was pretty conservative about what to expect and aware there's probably only two or three teams in the league where he fits.

Miller is a top4 guy in his rookie season. His developing isn’t in question. I think this is a case of you never seeing him play and your view of his value will change this year. Regardless this trade is out to lunch. Reilly is a UFA and we have Fox on the PP1 so his value is even lower to us. Find someone with a need for a PP1QB and they would be the right team to target

-Sandin was never in the trade and it was obvious i was talking about Rielly being an UFA next summer.
-i'm not your Gf/wife so don't put words into my mouth... i never said Rielly was a "bummmm!" just when you torn anterior cruciate ligament its going to catch up to you and we've been seeing signs of it.
-Georgiev is 25 years old when mosty goalie just break into the NHL on avg. His numbers are very promising and use the "potentially"
-Gauthier doesn't throw his body around at all which can get frustrating for a fan knowing his size and speed (Very fast!!! ) lol and has publicly said "i can't play the 4th line role i'm a top 6 forward" and if you know anything about the Rangers in which you seen to not we have had VERY high draft picks lately and room for them is tight pushing Gauthier to a 4th line role in which he's not.

Georgiev is 10x better then Kinkaid and not "well regarded" lol Georgiev will be an RFA so he's not "walking" far. Miller "i valued at a 2nd" is a big yikes!! The guy is going to be a star in the NHL. Buch had higher numbers then Nylander this year .. just saying. Plus he was one of the best PK players in the NHL this year.

-i'm not your Gf/wife so don't put words into my mouth... i never said Rielly was a "bummmm!" just when you torn anterior cruciate ligament its going to catch up to you and we've been seeing signs of it. Weird that his numbers haven't been declining...
-Georgiev is 25 years old when mosty goalie just break into the NHL on avg. His numbers are very promising and use the "potentially" His numbers are, quite literally league average. Not sure how that's promising, other than the fact that he's a safe bet to be league average...
I mean, he averaged 2 hits per game this past season, playing less than 10 minutes a night, so there's that...I'm pretty confident that the vast majority of 4th liners would also say "I'm not a 4th liner! I'm a top 6 forward!". There certainly aren't any numbers that would indicate that he's anything more than a bottom 6 forward.

It's funny when people resort to personal attacks when they can't find any stats to back up their (flawed) arguments. Cheers man!
