Initial Creation Date: Jun. 21, 2021

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Zajac - Former Devil that might want to come back but I think its better if he goes for the cup
Coleman - Another former Devil but I think there's a decent chance he comes back. He could either play 3C (like he did in NJ) or 1LW next to Hughes and Holtz/Sharangovich
Ovechkin - This one is a dream and there's a 99.99% chance this doesn't happen but Hughes and Ovi would be sick.
Ryan- NJ Native that would add depth scoring and leadership to the young roster

Hamilton - I'm not as interested in Dougie as other Devil fans but he would be a big time addition to the defense
Martinez - I think Martinez would be a great fit for the Devils. Veteran top 4 dman that would be a bridge cap until the younger guys could take the role. He will most likely sign with a contender but money talks
Larsson - Former Devil that could be a solid piece in the Devils top 4. Doubt he leaves Edmonton though
Oleksiak - Defensive defensemen that would pair well with Subban (similar to Kulikov signing last year)
Kulikov - Speaking of Kulikov, he played well for the Devils last year. Why not bring him back

Goalies - All of them would be a solid veteran backup for Mack. Freddie would be the best option in my opinion

Let me know if Im forgetting anyone

Agreed. Doubt he leaves Edmonton, and I want him to stay, but you never know. What are your biggest needs?

I just made one of these adding Oleksiak and Halak, so those two I think are good low risk moves because you know what you’re getting with them.

Ovi wouldn’t sign in NJ, and I think Hamilton would cost around 10-11m to leave a contender for a rebuilder. IMO he’s a top 5 defenseman in the league. Coleman would be okay, but I think he wants to play in Dallas.

I think going after Alec Martinez for the veteran presence, then patience, then Ian Cole he can play both sides very well. That seems like a good idea in my opinion, and I like the patience part!

Anderson and Larsson would be ideal. Larsson gets ragged on because he provides little offense, but defensively he's as sound as they come. Would love to see him back in Jersey.

I think the plan should be
1. One of Hughes, Edvinsson, Clarke with #4 pick
2. Another d-man with late 1st pick or 2nd round pick
3. One d-man that is cap causality or expansion protection move
4. One veteran d-man from UFA pool on 1-year deal.

We badly need defense. I really liked Larsson in NJ.

Minimum 3 years. Probably 4. Was a big risk- the tools are there, hes 6’4, skates really well, has a big shot. But uh...he makes some really really dumb mistakes. There’s a guy on Twitter who scouts Russian prospects who has an irrational hatred for him. Kind of funny

Im guessing Luke Hughes will take the same amount of time right?
