Good bottom 6 piece for the Sharks. Also good for the sharks to get him on a deal this cheap. Since he has more experience than some, he could maybe play with some of the kids while the develop. Great signing!

Amazing signing. The two years is great for the near min aav.

Injury riddled year had him on the sidelines but really glad he still has a job and he easily could become a useful bottom 6 player with middle 6 upside again

Did not see this coming. Nieto is a great piece to have in our bottom six for 2 more years, particularly when we sign an established 3C as has been mentioned a goal of the team this offseason. It's a step in the right direction.

I suspect this signing is at least partially to meet exposure requirements for the expansion draft but would have zero complaints if he played out the whole deal in San Jose.
