Sure thing..

A rant??

Yep, just like Tkuchuk wants out of Calgary and Calgary is sick of his antics?? Lol.

Yes
And “reportedly”
Doesn’t mean it’s true
But usually where there’s smoke, there’s fire (pun intended)

It’s not “reportedly” though. And im a Pens fan. I would love for Calgary to talk about trading him.

All This came from one Calgary beat writer saying they should think about trading Tkachuk and start a rebuild.

No quotes from organization saying they have talked about him in trade discussions. No inside sources close to the organization, no NHL insiders saying anything. Nothing from Tkachuk or his camp saying he wants out. Just one beat writers idea. Not a report.

And Calgary is sick of his antics?? Lol.. are u a mind reader now?? Cause I’m sure even if that is true, they wouldnt have put it in print anywhere.

That’s just making stuff up.

Connor is MUCH more prolific offensively
It’s not even close

Sure, but he’s a disaster defensively

No thanks, Tkachuk is a piece of ****, Calgary can keep him and trading Connor who signed long term for a guy who's going to want more money in a year but more then likely won't re-sign with the Jets is a terrible idea.

One item nobody has mentioned is cost certainty. Conner is signed on a reasonable long term deal for an elite goal scorer who needs to develop (a ton) defensively. Tkachuck is going to be an RFA with a $9M qualifying offer that will walk him to UFA status if his team offers it and he signs it. The leverage he has built into his current deal is impressive.

If any team acquired him, they would need to have the cap space to sign him to a $8-10M long term contract. Is he worth that? Tough call...he needs to show more during the next year or so to make GMs comfortable, I don’t think he’s good value at that price point in a flat cap era.

The cap will eventually start to rise, but that could be 3-5 years before we see it go up more than a couple million.

I think the Jets would pass on this trade, though I would prefer Tkachuck at 7.5M for next 5 years than Conner at the same price. Copp would be too much to give up, unless he is signed for more than $4.2 or so.
