I was just playing around. Sid would be pissed if they traded Guentzel. Even if it was for a Tkachuk brother. You might lose Sid’s feelings on wanting to retire in Pittsburgh if they traded Guentzel.

Guentzel' is a 30 year old UFA in 3 seasons, which is just about when Ottawa's young core should be ready to make some actually noise, whereas Tkachuk is about to sign an 8 year deal with Ottawa and is just 21 years old. And while Guentzle appears to be the best player in the deal, you'd be a fool to not factor in the Crosby effect. Tkachuk would easily eclipse Guentzel's numbers playing with Sid.
You can call it an overpayment if you want... I call it a mistake.

I think the only way the Sens even think about trady Brady is if Sid or Malkin are coming the other way, so not really a problem.
