I know. But Hamilton wanted out of Calgary supposedly because of the locker room. We still have most of the same players. Why would he come back?

Yeahhhh… You wont get anything close to any player mention above for the rights of Hamilton… Its gonna be a 3rd max a 2nd. Why would a team give anything more than that if theyve agreed to a contract already. They would just wait for the market to open

Without a contract you won’t get more than a 3rd. He’s not an RFA. The team acquiring does not get exclusive rights and has no guarantee he will sign with them.

Boston and Hamilton have no interest in a reunion.

I thought it was sign 'n trade

I'm not too familiar with trading of UFA signing rights (precedent?) but to my knowledge it's not a huge amount of leverage, like having an 'in' for a job etc.

Boston looked for a trade for Krug last year as a UFA, best they could do was a mid round pick. Blues traded Edmundson UFA rights for a 5th.

UFA rights return little. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Have to be a sign and trade if you want any value.

Varly was an RFA when dealt not a UFA.

If they trade just his rights, I’d expect a 2nd or 3rd.

If they sign and trade him, I’d expect a 2nd/3rd + useful salary dump from the acquiring team.

None of these returns are realistic.

Just looking at the blackhawks one, the only think on that list we'll give you for hamiltons rights is Slavin. It's laughable that you think his rights or even a sign and trade would land Debrincat or Boqvist lol. If we really wanted him we can sign him on the open market and keep those guys
