Not for that he doesn’t. Ducks decline rather easily.

No incentive for ANA to move an elite goalie for spare parts they're already full of.

Also two low picks do nothing for Seattle. They're not touching Matheson's bad contract.

Goalies rarely bring back massive returns. I doubt they get much more than that. Maybe swap Petterson for a 1st round pick, but their GM isn't really that good (probably bottom 5 in the league) so I can't really imagine him getting full value.

Matheson is a serviceable defenseman. I was going to throw a 2nd at them instead, probably should have went that route.

Murray's no good, that's true, but I don't see him moving his most important piece for something that fundamentally is not helping their team. They need none of the pieces here. If they were to move Gibson, that return should do something for them as well.

Matheson is a serviceable $2M defenseman in this league. Sadly, he's earning more than two times more than that. I wouldn't touch that contract at all, given that term is probably even worse than the actually money offered there.

Totally agree on what Murray SHOULD aim for, but I'm just hoping he still sucks at his job lol.

I'd be totally willing to ship out a 1st/prospect/Jarry/Petts or something along those lines for Gibson.

Completely agree. I was pretty pissed when GMJR traded Horny for him lol.
I feel like Vegas had like a bajillion Dmen after their expansion draft and used them in a bunch of trades, could be an option with a guy like Matheson, acquire him and trade him with some retention to garner more pieces.

Too many moving parts here so the probability of something like that happening is pretty low.

Personally speaking, the only realistic return in a Gibson to PIT trade is Guentzel, because he's probably the only guy for the Ducks that fills a certain need while being in the ballpark in terms of value. Just can't see the need for adding 3rd liners or something like that in exchange to elite goalie.

Problem with Pettersson here is ANA already moved him to PIT because they simply had no room for him - and the situation has not changed. They still have a logjam at LD.

As for who Seattle picks, my money is on Zucker. PIT saves the money there, and fundamentally speaking PIT has a plethora of interesting forwards for them to pick over those D-men, who are a tad overpaid for their production.

Yeah I have a feeling they are going to take a forward from PIT as well, one of Zucker, Blueger, ZAR, or maybe Tanev if they don't protect him.
