I get that you're doing a youth movement but there is no way UPL and Tokarski are goalies 1 and 2 going into next season. Not sure i like the idea of Eriksson either from VAN. That contract for Dahlen is also a little off. MItts is also too high - he probably gets half that.

That's the first Risto trade I've seen that actually has some merit. I hate giving up the first and I think Risto is one of the worst dmen in the league, but the money almost makes it worth it. Oloffson is really what makes this whole thing worth it. I'm very torn.

Instead of a first, would you take a 2022 2nd and your choice of Bjorqvist, Clang or Blomqvist?

Ukko is going to have a great career and tokarski was playing solid near the end of the season, this is a very young team still, but I think that goalie tandem could surprise you.

Erickson has 1 year left on his deal and Buffalo has the cap room so why not, they’re not going for a cup run this year and might aswell take the compensation for taking on his contact.

Pay Dahlin more or less than, I was just going for a ballpark price..

I wanted to lock up mittlestadt term wise so I gave him more money.

Thanks man. I wanted to move them to pitsburgh on a deal that wouldn’t get pens fans too upset lol. Both only have 1 year left on their contracts so Buffalo doesn’t mind retaining. PO Joseph and a first seems like a good price since you’re getting a top 9 forward and a top 6 right handed D.

I get you feel that way about Ristolainen but the past couple of years he’s been a frustrated player. I really think he’s gonna surprise people when he gets moved. He’s still very skilled and has great size and speed for a d man

The goalie tandem will be surprisingly bad with that team playing in front of them. Paying Dahlen $8.25 mil is not ballpark; will be cheaper than that.

Risto is definitely the type of dman I can see Hextall liking, but it would take a specific situation to make it work because of finances which this deal does. A lot of trades have us giving up a 1st straight up for him and that just won't jive. Hextall and Burke have been super vocal to the media that they're hardcore scaling back on moving futures the way JR did for us. They're only going to use our quality picks/prospects in a great deal. I'm not sure if that qualifies, but it's certainly in the realm of something you consider.

I see, but I think PO J is still a shot in the dark. He’s decent but Marino is your future stay at home d man. PO is very moveable. I think the pens team also has some nice prospects. Giving up Calen Addison definitely hurt. But you guys are very competitive every year and can definitely make a run at the cup with a couple nice depth pieces like in this trade.

Don’t be scared to give up 1st round picks. It’s what great teams do to stay great. Ristolainen has a lot left in him

It's not a matter of that so much as what Hextall has made very clear about giving up top picks.
