Absolutely not. We aren't trading away our best player at the weakest position(Andersson) unless an upgrade is coming back. Also we aren't Trading Mangiapane

Why does everyone trade Amirov? He’s going to be better than Konecky so why trade him and a 1st for Konecky?

for me it's bc it helps the Leafs now, plus Konecny's cost controlled. Amirov may be better one day, but prospects take a couple years and I'm high on Konecny, I see him as Marchand lite

Objectively I think the value is close. NHL 21 may accept it. But realistically each GM says no. As a Leaf fan I say no. And I am sure Calgary fans say now.

Marner is not going anywhere. And I realize he is the new Leaf fan whipping boy, but man i sure hope Rielly stays as a Leaf. Replacing him will be extremely hard. And no, sorry, Sandin is not ready yet.

Calgary has no reason to trade the guy they should build their team around. Mangiapane is a bright spot. Andersson is a solid d man to continue developing.

Rielly - Tanev
Hanifin - UFA
Valimaki - Stone (?) isn't too bad considering you could flip Rielly to the other side when Valimaki takes a step into the top 4. to each their own I guess

Why should the Leafs trade Rielly then?

this is probably the most logical, non overreactionary take I've seen on this site. good job, lol. I don't think Marner or Tkachuk leaves their teams, but I'd look at moving Marner if I'm the Leafs imo

They can't afford him like Calgary would be able to (especially if they move Johnny)

Theoretically you're probably right. But the way Leaf fans value Rielly on this site he can't be worth any more than his current contract...

1. Flames fans will probably roast you for that offer lol
2. The Flyers trade is probably an overpayment, given Konecny was healthy scratched this year - a recent 1st round pick and future 1st is too much
3. Hyman isn't signing for 4M. He probably gets 5.5-6M, MAYBE takes 5.25M from the Leafs with the right term.
4. On the flip side, those are probably overpayments for Bonino and Goligoski.

Bud he ain’t a Marchand lite. He’s gonna be a bigger version of his skill. Maybe not the grittiness but the defensive awareness and offensive upside has Marchard written all over it. He’s already playing pro in the 2nd best league in the world. He’s gonna be a factor in 2022-23, so it makes no sense to trade him when you’ll need player like that to fill out your line up due to having a lot of money tied up in the core 4.

Also if you didn’t know Tkachuk qualifying offer is 9 million as that’s his base salary next season. That’s the least he can possibly make so we are back in the same boat.

Perfectly balanced take, wish the rest of CF was like that..

the value isn't close. If Dubas was offered this package from CGY he'd take it and run

im just saying- both mangiapane and Tkachuk are elite two way wingers, Andersson is a top 4 D on a fair contract. That's a lot to give up for Marner and a defenseman who will likely fall off a cliff in 2 years.

Not disputing that Tkachuk is an elite two way winger. Mangiapane seems to be developing into a great top 6 player. Andersson as you say is a top 4D on a fair contract.
Marner is an elite winger who has been in the top scoring for years now. He had an outstanding year again this season. Him and his line mate got stoned every shift by a goaltender who may have out performed 1999 Dominik Hasek. And now he is being dumped by every fan for peanuts.
Rielly, despite what again delusional leaf fans will say. He is an excellent puck moving defenseman who is not terrible in his own end. Plays big minutes. And plays with heart.

Mangiapane had a better season than tkachuk. He’s already a 1st line winger. No doubt Marner is elite, but he is a bit overpaid and he seems to lose his confidence in the playoffs. Not the same player. Rielly is an elite offensive defenseman, but he is a liability in his own end and players with his skillset do not age well.
