Tbh I'd trade Byram before Girard. Sure, he made a couple unfortunate turnovers in the playoffs, but dude is locked in at a sick contract and he's only 23. It might primarily be for cap reasons, but it wouldnt be hard to peripherally move Burakovsky or Donskoi and find a couple good 3rd liners on the cheap in FA

He's a cap dump. So this trade pans out to be:

Tkachuk + 2nd round pick + (-3.5 millions capspace) for Girard.

Why is calgary adding a pick and taking a cap dump?
