I don't see the need of trading Carlo for Trouba. He's younger, and at this point I feel he has a higher ceiling than Trouba as a complete d-man.

I don't see Carlo's offense being overall great. I love the kid and his upside, but Trouba helps more now (than Carlo does) as well as the future. He's 22 years old. He's much farther along offensively and is solid defensively. If you can get Trouba for Carlo (plus other pieces), you do it because you get better now, and still acquired a defenseman for down the road.

Okay. Well, something is going to give with Trouba because does he really want to stay in Winnipeg? Why didn't he sign a longer term deal? The deal he signed actually makes him much easier to move because he's got some term now. Package wise, this is a pretty good offer for him. Winny gets a good forward with some upside, a solid defenseman who is young, cost controlled, and has upside, and a high-end pick. If something else needs to be added (minor) then sure.

Any interest in a Dumba for Carlo+Moore as a base deal? Just wondering where the value is for that.

I agree Trouba is well ahead of Carlo offensively, and to be honest I had no idea he was a big as he is (I just had to check his height). I thought he was about 5'11" and wanted to keep that big body in Carlo as a shut down d-man, especially with McAvoy coming who is only about 6'.

I wholeheartedly agree with Spooner being the secondary piece though. I see no indication he'll be signed with us next year, so using him to gain something valuable should definitely be done.

I don't see Dumba as a guy the Bruins would move Carlo for. I know he's having a very good season for MIN, but that whole team is on fire. His advanced stats are kind of concerning. You've watched him a lot though, so your view on him is better than mine, as I haven't watched a lot of Minny games this season.

He needs a babysitter still, but he has improved a lot defensively since last year. I'm not scared to see him on the ice defensively anymore. He looked great with Suter on the top pair for the handful of games they were together. But Suter is so good he makes everyone look good, so grain of salt.

The Wild as a team are poor in the advanced stats categories. They give up a lot of shots, but they are mostly low % shots. They don't take a lot of shots, but have lots of quality scoring chances.

Main reason I asked is because Carlo is exempt from expansion draft, Dumba isn't. I'd rather have Dumba now and in the future tbh.

I also think the Bruins would be better off keeping Carlo in the long run. McAvoy and Carlo will be a heck of a top-4 as RHD.

I see what you're saying. Trouba is a guy I've had a huge hockey-crush on for a long time, and he'd be an upgrade on Carlo now, and would still help down the road being 22. IF the Bruins had another strong RHD in the system, other than McAvoy, I would personally (not that my opinion matters haha) be open to moving Carlo for a LHD (not sure how you'd feel about a Brodin for Carlo deal for example; not 1-for-1 but main pieces). But they really only have Colin Miller (who i'm not too sure is really a top 4 guy down the road, has looked very good lately though) and that's pretty much it.
