Detroit would have to make a choice between this deal and trading for Vince Dunn.

Dunn is cheaper both in trade cost and cap'/salary and he plays both sides.

I'd have to have a long talk with my scouting staff before deciding.

Could easily be done after the expansion draft if Yzerman was willing to part with that much draft capital. I don't think Dunn would actually cost a first round pick. If this was the actually asking price for werenski Yzerman would have to strongly consider it for sure. I guess depends what the blues value Dunn at.

It would be an interesting task to try to puzzle both of them into a working setup.

Having Werenski - Hronek + Dunn - Seider + Johansson - Lindström + Viro in two years time would be an unusual luxury for Detroit. How to deal with the cap in 4-5 years though...

That Detroit deal is really bad for cbj. The sabers trade is bad for them and the Toronto trade is about right in value.

Not shocked at all to see that a Wings fan came up with this one. That Werenski trade is next-level awful for us. At least have the decency to throw in your own 1st so we can have a moment to think about it before we turn you down anyways for not including a legit #1C.
