Description
Retain Granato as HC, Trade the big 3. Devils have shown interest in Risto, Package him with Eichel and take Subbans contract for 1 year to get a better return, Draft Berniers at 1 and dont look back, Seattle might have theyre eye on him as well and if we trade back SEATTLE could take him. Select Luke Hughes at 4 to keep Jack Hughes in Buf after this year. Reinhart and Tkachuks Trade is very interesting. IF Tkachuk really wants out then this is a great opportunity to get 2 great players the change of scenery they need. Heres the interesting part, Reinhart is 2 years older and is slightly better. Now Reinhart has been playing on the Sabres who has been in the bottom of the league since he started with BUF, pair him up with a better team and ??? maybe he puts up numbers in CAL. trading tkachuk is difficult because he can not resign after this year. IE bringing his value down. This trade only happens if Reinhart does a sign and trade.

C- McCabe (Temporarily) until either Cozens/Hughes/Berniers/Tkachuk/Dahlin is ready.

PK is on a horrible contact and is at the end of his career. He's not that good. I doubt the Devils would trade Hughes. He's their future.

I wouldn’t want to trade Jack or Nico for Eichel (I know one of them would have to be in the package). His injury and overall attitude towards the injury and organization concern me too much. Those two centers are seen as core guys to build around according to Fitz so I don’t see NJ as a fit for Eichel

Just an idea, I havent heard or read anything about NJ being interested in Eichel. and you made 2 valid points too.

Why? if Tkachuk really wants out, I cant see how this trade is not accepted by both teams

Also Tkachuk is more Valuable to us tha Reinhart will ever be. Future captain one of the players that you love to have hate to play against. Only reason I see Calgary trading Tkachuk is for Eichel

I think I’ve heard them briefly floated around as a potential option but I just don’t see it with all of the praise given to the core in NJ from the GM. I’d be more comfortable taking a look into reinhart and Risto since Friedman said there was a team interested in both but the price of reinhart might be too rich for me

Subban really had 1, maybe 1.5 bad seasons when he was playing through injuries.
The guy was Norris finalist a few years ago.
Had an off year last year, but was much better this season.
He is not a $9 million d-man anymore, but still solid middle-pair option.

(and Devils are not trading Hughes)

Contract is also over next season... so the $ number may be bad, but you can't beat the term.
