The problem is Reilly could be one and done. He could walk and it is a 1st and a prospect in the end.

Think everyone declines.

Can't see CGY move Tkachuk for a pending UFA. One of Marner or Nylander simply must be included.

WSH are most likely getting a better offer for Vanecek at that. Solid 1B goalie at a below league minimum contract is very desirable. This offer will be topped easily.

Can't see Holl bringing this kind of value. He's a more or less a meh 3rd pair D, mostly carried by Muzzin. Try a 4th rounder. Plus PHI already have a 2nd and 3rd pair RDs set.

As for Engvall, he's useful and pretty cheap. Dubas seem to like the guy. Think he's sticking around.

TOR offensive was being silenced by MTL defense and TOR defense was lacking vs MTL. Toronto fans : lets trade defense for more Offense......

No.

When it comes to trading Tkachuk only 1 Leaf revs our engine and that is a non-starter for the Leafs, unless the deal looks like Mike Milbury was your GM

Not enough really, these a bit light....

TOR doesn;t really have the picks anymore to bulk up these deals and their prospect pool is weak, at best.

Tkachuk would need Amirov and the 1st, but Reilly, as a UFA doesn;t carry enough value to CGY. One of liljegren or sandin would have to be included, and even then I'm not sure its WHAT CGY wants.

As for Vancek, well its middling, but a probable low 3rd 2 yrs away and a low 5th probably isn;'t enough, (especially as you've given him the backup role). If anything a 2021 2nd and the 2023 3rd is closer.

I like Holl and hes given great delivery in TOR. But at 28 yrs old with only 2 NHL seasons, hes more of a right place-right player and I dont think that PHI would part with a high 2nd for that. Holl is a solid player, but I dont see him as a top 4 RD.

The UFA signings are all a bit light, not by tons, but probably 250k-1mil each, and any one of those more realistic signings blows your cap and lessens the team depth

I think the goal is to get as much as they can for Reilly and then have him sign with Toronto as a UFA.

I get a lot of people "don't see Holl as a top 4 dman" which weird considering he has literally played top 4 2 seasons in a row and hasn't even looked close to out of place and has a very very reasonable cap hit with an extra year before he's a Ufa which I can't see him asking anything more than 3-4 million per year

Seems foolish for TO to move away from Holl unless the return is too good to pass up

I think you missed my point, was that Holl has been the right player-right place in TOR, but has no real history in the NHL elsewhere. I said hes been great and unexpected in TOR. If PHI needs a top line RD, Holl isn;t it. And I don;t think he carries that value outside of TOR. Maybe hes a good number 4 elsewhere, maybe. But not in PHI.
