It’s just not worth it for eichel imo. And it makes no sense, this trade wouldn’t make the pens any better tbh

what universe is Mccann a top 6 center? just wondering .... bc i see him as a solid 3c but i promise you that the vast majority dont see Mccann as a 2c.. example would be a guy like Kuzy is a great top 6 center. imo cap hit mixed with the lack of a great prospect kills this deal... maybe if the Penguins didnt trade Addison and the 15oa they would have some good assets but Poulin is like a c+ b? since being drafted h looks like he took a step back?

Petterson for DET 4th rd pick at best. He regressed last season and that's a lot of money and term left on his deal, so it's a gamble in the first place if Detroit even trades for him.

We're not trading Stetcher.

Detroit is not in a position to trade a RD for a LD.

Detroit have 4 RD but absolutely nothing that can be used as an injury backup.

Detroit needs LD but those are easy to find either in FA (Oleksiak, del Zotto) or via cap dump deals (Gardiner, Gostisbehere) or a proper trade (Vince Dunn).

Giving up Stecher would be like robbing Peter to pay Paul. We'd just replace one problem with another.

We do need both LD and RD but they're totally different needs.

On RD we have 4 really good roster players but nothing at all in Grand Rapids except newly signed Seth Barton who is at least two years away from being able to handle injury call-ups.

On LD we have 1 half invalid on his last year of contract and 1 defensively shaky youth on the roster but we're stacked with really good prospects (6 of them, 4 signed + 2 unsigned).

What Detroit needs on LD is one or two veterans that can tie us over until our prospects come through. We don't want long contracts there unless it's someone like Vince Dunn.

On RD Detroit needs one waiver exempt prospect far enough in his development to be able to handle an injury call-up and maybe come up next year if Stecher doesn't want to extend. Someone like Liljegren (TOR) would be perfect.

Kuznetsov is a first line center not top 6. McCann is top 6 and is a nice surprise when Crosby and Malkin get injured. He's underrated. He's good offensively and defensively too and he's fairly fast too.

That's something only you and I know. Stecher is too underrated. That trade would definitely work because he's just not valued like we think. Although yea he's one of my favorite defenders. Very underrated.

Extremely underrated. I am very high on him and think he's going to absolutely break out next season.

I dont know about that its still Detroits offence that he's feeding it to and most importantly the coaches just dont ever give him the minutes. But yea I agree with you.

He had an increased role at the end of the season and really ran with it. He will be top 4 and see PP time no doubt next year.

I'll believe it when I see it no offense. I know he was a healthy scratch a couple times. He stays getting disrespected. Underrated as hell by everyone, NHL fans and even by his own team.

you think Wings would move TS fora 2nd round pick? or a 2nd + a solid LSD prospect like Nardella?

a trade similar to the Jensen deal + wings owe the Capitals a favor after killing them

I think if they do trade him, it won't be until the trade deadline and that will only be if he isn't going to re-sign here. The cost will go down as a result, but that's a risk I'm willing to take. I think he will be extended personally.

I think you underestimate the power of multiple assets. The total value you’re getting out of Marino and McCann and poulin next year could arguably be equal to eichel. On top of that you give up your entire future just for another year of a first round exit, doesn’t make much sense for me

I'm not sure this team could win a cup.
But if Malkin and Letang take pay cuts the year after, watch out. Because they will be able to afford 1-2 good pieces to push them over the top
