Calgary would look for a deal that better suites there needs, and provides more of an immediate help for the team. I am sure that could be found elsewhere.

That's probably a deal Calgary considers. A big body, right handed, age appropriate forward and a high pick.

Maybe an additional piece like Bernard-Docker, Greig, Thompson, or Sokolov. The sens sure have an embarrassment of riches under 23. The future is bright.

This is where any Tkachuk trade discussion completely loses me. Matthew is obviously great, but I don't see how Ottawa ends up better trading something like that, compared to a guy like Reinhart who won't cost any of your young roster pieces.

Gotta add someone who can take significant minutes away from Zaitsev. I like Demers and Gologaski, but I doubt DJ plays either ahead of Zaitsev. Martinez could work, but I'm not doing more than 2 years.

If Ottawa could get Zaitsev off this team, I would go after Savard aggressively on a 3 year deal. Then add a guy like Hakanpaa to play 3rd pair for a year to stall for JBD.
