In your mind, the difference between Sam Reinhart and Gabe Vilardi is 4 draft spots in a bad draft?

Ristolainen has almost begged to leave for 3 years and you keep him and give him a letter in his walk year?

What is your plan to keep Tkachuk past his final RFA season?

Tkachuk would make a really interesting and imo valid captain especially as he matures, for such a rambunctious player he's so poised and articulate

Kinda becomes the heart & soul of teams too

My vote's for him especially with no clear cut options

Definitely an interesting trade good job there

I'd go with lak winning it ultimately

Seems doubtful Vilardi becomes as good as samson

Risto has been the only player with heart on the team. He's not going to yield you a big return, so I'd rather him stick around another year. He's been wearing the A off and on and it's been well deserved.

My plan to keep Tkachuk would be sign him.... build around the nice young core, adding a couple top 10 picks/prospects.

What are you planning on offering tkachuk to pass up UFA? Keep in mind his qualifying offer is over 9 million next year.

Also, I really don't know what to say about your ristolainen opinion, I do not believe it is based in reality.

No answer about vilardi vs reinhart?

The competition to see who becomes the #1C ultimately is really interesting and I'd wager a little bit on mittsy mostly as his odds would be lower

But it's kinds funny that he was 8th Coz 6th Vil 11th

For as much as he's looked underwhelming so far Cozens and Vilardi are actually on a similar trajectory as him and have posted pretty similar results so far

Getting overexposed in the NHL at a young age 😬

Vilardi with *much* better linemates than CM so far

First 4 years after being drafted.

Reinhart: 65 goals, 75 assists, 140 points
Vilardi: 13 goals, 17 assists, 30 points

Difference is 4 slots in the draft though?

Ah, yes, the comparing of a players first 249 games to another players 64 career games.

Do I think it's full value for Reinhart, no, I don't.

But I am also taking many factors into consideration.

Such as he's an RFA, no guarantee he signs with the Kings for more then a year. He clearly wants out of Buffalo and we need to get the best offer for him. Would I rather see Turcotte over Villardi in this trade ? 100%. Do I think the Kings do it ? Probably not. I see potential in Vilardi to be a similar player to Reinhart. Yes, this draft is weak, no question, but there's been reports that the Sabres like/"know" this draft and want another top 10 pick. And as a Sabres fan for all my life, final factor.... it's Buffalo..... they've been known to make **** moves. This move wpuld certainly not fall into the "****" category though.

And by the way, since you wanted to compare numbers..... Between their first 2 seasons....

Vilardi 64 games 13 goals 17 assists 30 points (20.3% goals per game 46.875% pts per game) Could also show he clearly has a higher assists per game avg

Reinhart 88 games 23 goals 20 assits 43 points (26.1% goals per game 48.6% pts per game)

Very similar points expectancy

The Reinhart situation is 1 year ahead of the tkachuk situation yet you trade eichel for him.

The fact that vilardi has played so little is, you know, the point

Pittsburgh declines. Thompson doesn't bring anything to the Pens. He isn't a 3rd liner and they have plenty of guys to plug and play at 4th line. I'd rather keep a trusted backup goalie on a good deal.
