Tkachuk has 1 year left on his contract and then can take his QO or go to arbitration and walk to UFA.

Eichel is better and under contract for 5 years and it's likely Tkachuk makes as much or more in 1 or 2 years.

So no. It's not fair

One Gawdin is not a top end prospect, and 2 the Flames don't even have 10th overall

I have a strong suspicion that any trade involving Eichel will have to include the 2023 pick as an absolute must have. The 2023 draft is the most sought after draft since 2015. The Sabers will be hording those picks

I have my doubts than Reinhart alone would be enough to get Matt Tkachuk.
