That Byron Lucic swap is a really interesting one and a good thought, I just don't think Calgary goes near it, Byron is everything the Flames have too much of already in undersized underperforming forwards, Lucic is paid too much but brings a ton to the Flames on and off the ice and it not worth it for Calgary to just save a couple million.

Blues decline. No use for Kulak and I'm pretty sure another team beats 2 low seconds.

Montreal should be shedding salary not adding it. Lucic for Byron makes no sense from Habs perspective. Also no to Cousins and too much for Dunn's rights. Maybe 2nd or 3rd for Dunn's rights. You could probably send Byron somewhere for an LTIR player and gain cap space without adding peices as he still has some value especially after the ayoffs he is having. Then you would have cap for Danault and maybe Armia as well. Also why not get a 2nd for Drouin and let Seattle take either Chiarot or Allen and gain even more flexibility?

I don't think the deal will even be with St. Louis as I think Seattle selects Dunn and signs him to an extension and takes him off the market.

People forget the Blues can easily protect Dunn as the chances of Seattle taking a 29 year old Krug for 6 years at 6.5 is highly unlikely. Or Blues make a deal with a team who could use a young LD like Detroit. Either way, I agree that Montreal won't be the team.

I would think that no matter which one of Dunn or Krug is left exposed Seattle would take them as they would be the best player available from the Blues

The way I see, if they were to take Krug it opens up 6.5 in cap space so it's still a win for the Blues in my opinion. Still don't see Seattle taking him.
