Why in the world would the caps leave Kuzy unprotected and then call Francis and tell him they’ll also give a first and fifth rounder if they take him?!? Not to mention why would Kuzy waive to go to Seattle..??

Henrique doesnt have negative value, especially not to a team where hes the best C on the roster for a team with 20M in cap space

And they surely arent paying anything to a division rival to take their defacto 1C and for sure not paying the 34th OA pick for that.

Henrique gets protected before the Ducks pay to lose him

Honestly, well done. I feel like this is one of the better Seattle drafts that I've seen. A few thoughts:

-I can't see the Ducks moving a pick to shed Rico. They might, but I just don't feel like it makes any sense right now. Is he overpaid? Yes. But, there's not a ton of point doing it right now, given the Ducks cap situation is fine. GMBM should expose him, Shatty, Heinen, and Manson (Or go 4-4-1...doesn't really matter), and let Seattle pick whoever they want.
-I don't see Washington paying up that much to move Kuzy. He's still relatively productive, though he could probably use a change of scenary. Would it be nice for the Caps to have that space? Probably...but you dig a reasonably deep hole there that you need to turn around and fill.
-I'd be surprised to see Parise waive.
-If I was Florida, I'd just bury that Stralman contract and move on. Only reason I'd do it is if it was Dougie time, and I really, really needed the space to get him. Otherwise, ride it out.

Well done though!

There will be much better options to pick from Pittsburgh than DeSmith. Blueger comes to mind first.

Going to be hard for them to select Bear when he is protected.
