Description

Don't pay too much attention to the signings other than Barkov, they're mostly filler/speculative.

The main idea here is offering Barkov a similar contract to Mark Stone when he hits UFA after next year when the Canucks' bad contract/recapture situation is over.

FLA themselves is probably offering him $10-11M. And with FLA being a tax haven in the league, boy if VAN wants to get in those sweepstakes it's gonna take at least a McDavid salary to pull it off.

Edit: according to the site's tax calculator, if FLA offered Barkov a $11M contract, VAN would have to offer $13,5M a year to match the amount of net income of the Cats contract.

To be fair Leafs has lost two years in a row against pretty much lowest ranked teams.

Also VAN gave a serious run for their money against Knights as well.
