Wrong

Logan brown is 1 year younger than eichel and has 9 career points. Hes a nobody

Brannstrom has done nothing to distinguish himself in the now 4 years since he's been drafted

Zero of your top prospects. It's terrible

Replace Logan Brown with a roster player (C. Brown, Tierney) and I'd do it.

Greedy how? We’re giving up the best player in the deal by a country mile and getting nothing of actual value in return outside the first round pick. Logan Brown and Brannstrom have done nothing at the professional level to be worthy of being part of such a trade. Those are the roster players you’re proposing to send in return. The other two are prospects and God only knows if they’ll pan out at all. Consider that we are sending our franchise player to another team in our own division where he can burn us for the next 5 years at least, the only one being greedy here is you.

theyre 23 and 21 respectively theyre definitely gonna get better and theyve played a combined 90 games relax, every team holds the cards against buffalo who has a terrible gm and terrible team and its no secret the star wants absolutely nothing to do with the team or city this is a great deal for a 12 year rebuilder

Brannstrom has 1D potential. Greig has top 6 potential. 10th overall. Lassi has middle six potential. Brown is a bust.

Its not enough Quality and too much quanitity. But honestly I probably wouldn't even make that trade with the uncertainty around Eichels injuryy.

If Tkachuk wanted out and Ott had to move him… then probably yes. Fortunately for Sens that’s not the case.

Buffalo is going to want at least 1 young roster player along with at least 1 if not 2 top prospects plus picks from a division rival. It's why they said they'd prefer to move him out west.

If Ottawa happens to be on on Eichel (I personally think they are) it's likely something similar to this:

https://www.capfriendly.com/armchair-gm/team/2389580

But I think Ottawa is gonna have to decide if they want to pay a steep overpay for Eichel - my opinion is that they definitely should and they'll be a model lineup for years to come if they do.

Our “terrible GM“ hasn’t made a bad trade yet. Even the Taylor Hall trade where he had his hands tied by where Taylor Hall wanted to go, he still got his guy in return. And it’s not like we gave up any assets to get Taylor Hall in the first place. Buffalo holds all the cards, because they are under no obligation to trade Jack Eichel no matter what he wants. They also don’t have to send him to you if they decide to send him anywhere. They will take the best offer when and only when they decide it’s an offer they want.

I don’t know if you saw the supposed offer on the table for Jack from Columbus. Supposedly they were offering their first round pick, Texier, Merzlinkins, and Chinakov. That is a package miles better than the one you’re proposing here, and supposedly Kevyn Adams said it wasn’t enough. None of that may be true, but it does make me wonder if there’s any truth to it, what kind of offer is Kevyn Adams prepared to accept? Certainly never this one.

You're right about Logan Brown, hard to argue that. But the 10th OA and Grieg are both great pieces. And you're very wrong about Brannstrom... this season he ranked 11th in points/60 among ALL NHL D MEN. The 10 D MEN above him are all older and played on teams that made the playoffs. He's only 21 years old. Most D men haven't even gotten a call up at that age.

First thing I would suggest is swapping out Logan Brown for Connor Brown.

Nope. But we'll swap out Logan Brown for Colin White, Greig for Dadonov, and Brannstrom for Zaitsev. GO SABRES!!!

Well we have seen what a franchise centre has done in some cities. I don't know why the Sabres think it's a bad deal. Some hope for players traded and the pick. Just don't waste the 10m cap hit on Eichel signing players like Skinner.
IMO Ottawa shouldn't make the trade. Develop those young assets. Heck Norris looks like he can be a franchise centre . And soon, (maybe not this year) spend that 10m on UFAs, not Eichel.
