What should happen

Team: 2021-22 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 24, 2021
Published: Jun. 24, 2021
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Hall takes ~60% of his market value because he's "made enough money in this league" and wants to stay in Boston to win. The short term means that his contract will expire right about the time Marchand should start to decline--Hall will only be 32 at that time, and could still be an attractive piece to a new contender if things don't work out in Boston.

Krejci and Rask both take pay cuts to allow the team to contend, but there's enough cap space to pay all 3 players a little more if needed.

Coyle and DeBrusk both had bad years, but should rebound, and when paired with Smith should create a great forechecking line that can still score off the rush.

Oleksiak replaces some of the size lost when Chara left last year, and has some of the best underlying defensive numbers of all the available blueliners this offseason. Having a more reliable partner will allow McAvoy to join the rush, pinch in the offensive zone, etc. and also pushes Grzelcyk down to the second pairing with Carlo where he can drive play (Reilly-Hakanpaa will have a similar dynamic).

Halak, a goalie the Bruins are familiar with, signs a two-way deal (likely his last in North America) to compete with Vladar for the backup spot while Rask is on the shelf.

Players on the taxi squad are likely call-ups from Providence in case of injuries.

I'm not sure what Logan Brown costs these days, but probably less than any player from your roster.
And I'm no Bruins expert, but don't they need offensive LHD...someone to fill Krug's old spot?

What does he do for the current iteration of the bruins though? Surely not more than Lauzon.

He's a prospect so I imagine he'll miss the Bruins window. Therefore, no real use for this deal for either team.

Exactly. I would suspect the value is likely way off as well.

I'd say. Berard hasn't shown anything yet in the NHL. Lauzon is a steady 3rd pair LHD.

I'd keep Lauzon instead, cheaper option.

Honestly just wanted to get rid of two out of Lauzon/Zboril/Clifton so that they aren’t lost through waivers, I’m sure another team would play a similar price for either player but Reilly/Hakanpaa are a much better 3rd pair and the Bruins will have the cap
