Calling all Oilers fans

Initial Creation Date: Jun. 24, 2021

Trades
TBL
  1. 2021 1st round pick (EDM)
  2. 2022 1st round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Any chance on earth you would be willing to take Killorn for a 1st? He’d fit in great in EDM and would be an ideal 1st/2nd line all around winger. Lots of teams would be interested in him and a bidding war could ensue. If so, would you rather give up the 2021 or 2022 pick? Would Tampa need to add to the trade to make this happen or do the Oilers have zero chance of trading a 1st for Killorn? Let me know if I’m being ridiculous in the comments but I seriously think Killorns value is close to a 1st and sometimes teams give up a little more than the should.

for one 1st I think many teams would be interested and who are not on his M-NTC cause hes got 2 years left on a good cap hit and plays a good 2-way game

Personally, I don’t think any team will be giving Tampa 1sts.

I have a feeling that GMs are going to be really hard on them because of their cap situation.

I could be wrong, and that is just my opinion but I guess we won’t really know until it happens.

I do think Killorn could fetch a first, but like I said, with Tampa’s cap situation and the flat cap and everything I have a feeling GMs will be tough on them.

I personally dont think any GM wants to be nice to us. They want to take advantage of our cap situation. Anyways we should trade palat instead of killorn anways. Killorn is much better and is the primary play driver on the second line, While palat definitely gets carried by Point and Kuch and plays a much more replaceable role.

Agreed. This is the reason why I think we could get a 1st from Killorn. In my opinion, If it’s not a great return, we should do our best not to trade Killorn

I haven’t heard anything like that. Hes from Canada and he only has a M-NTC and I doubt the Oilers would be on that list considering all the sh**y teams worse than them

I'm thinking the Oilers would probably offer a second round pick. The reality is that with a M-NTC clause, there may not be a lot of teams Killorn is willing to waive for which will decrease a bidding war. Tampa also needs to make a trade like this as much as the Oilers could benefit from the acquisition.

Tampa is currently projected to be 9M over the cap (with a full 23 man roster). Sure teams will be lining up to get these guys but not anywhere near actual value especially if they win the cup again. I would love to see a scenario where there’s basically a gentleman’s agreement in the league where nobody helps Tampa. Seattle takes a player making under 1M and nobody makes deals with them. And then leading up to the start of the season everyone comes calling for Point and Kucherov. Basically force them to trade them or throw away a season, take the fines and lose future picks. I doubt it happens but damn wouldn’t it be a beautiful thing.

I know he’s from Canada but I thought he was one who enjoyed playing in the states, thought it was someone recent on the lighting when they who could waive for cap relief discussions last offseason, I just can’t remember who

I wouldn’t give up a first but would have interest. I bet most gms will play hard ball not because Tampa is in cap hell but because of how they manipulated the cap system this year. I personally don’t care about that but if I was a competitive gm would see it with different eyes.

That’s some serious bull**** lmao. If Tampa called EDM and said they’d give them Killorn for a 3rd, Holland isn’t gonna hang up the phone and tell JBB to go pound sand because of a “gentleman’s agreement” to not trade with Tampa 🤡

Killorn is a nice player. Not even close to two 1st nice. I'd do a 2nd and a prospect.

Just so ya know, I didn’t mean 2 firsts, I just put both firsts there to see which pick is more available.

I'm of the opinion teams will avoid giving Tampa a 1st. A 2nd or 2nd plus prospect is what I think Killorn will go for.
