Not even close on the Flames deal. We aren't rebuilding

Hanifin broke out as a top pair dman this year, he's not being traded for depth guys and b prospects

I probably wouldn't even do this if we were rebuilding

Disagree; that's two former top 10 picks plus a 11OA pick this year. Jack is not pulling in more than that

It’s the 2022 1st pick not 2021 but don’t disagree with you.

These trades aren’t close. The Flames and TBL values are heavily skewed in Hawks favor.

2 guys that probably never make an impact in the nhl (kalynuk is like our 7th best LD under 25 so if he makes it it’ll be as like a #9 guy who fills in for injuries, probably never cracks our top 7 D, and chalupa isn’t looking like he’ll come close to cracking the big league at all, he wasn’t particularly good in the czech league and 7 pts in 27 ahl games for a guy turning 23 is underwhelming at best), 2 guys that are at best B prospects, and a 2nd doesn’t get you a top pair D lol

If it's the 2021 pick then this deal gets it done IMO. 2022 pick might very well get it done too but a little bit more of a question mark.

I'm not convinced that Strome is a compelling piece to any blockbuster trade where the other team is clearly engaging "rebuild mode." He's a quality C, but as demonstrated the past two season, more of a depth (bottom-6) C on a decent team. Why would BUF want him on an expiring contract? I'd be more curious to hear whether BUF is talking about off-loading the Skinner deal (at least some salary) in any of the Eichel discussions. Hard for a team to rebuild when you're paying a guy 10% of your cap well into his less producitve 30's.

Tampa return should be higher We’re taking a bad contract off their hands to give them the desperate help they need should fetch us more than a 3rd rounder in my opinion
