I don’t think broken neck Eichel is on the list of players they’d trade Lafreniere for.

...hopefully

Replace Laf with Kakko and sure, but the Rangers are not making a move for a broken Jack Eichel.

Rangers aren’t trading Laf or even Schneider for Eichel at this point, the market just isn’t there. Most Rangers would offer at this point is Strome Chytil Jones and 2021 1st imo

Too much cap going to Rangers. Rangers keep the cost efficient ELCs and spend the Eichel cap elsewhere.

Assuming that the 2nd and Geo are a wash. Laf and Schneider might be fair but we also have no reason to do it and have that much of a cap hit. Just wouldn’t work

I'm not trading Lafrenière str8 up for Eichel. For all we know Eichel could never recover from this and that uncertainty alone doesn't get you the 1st overall pick the year before.

The Sabres have tried to conjure up a market for Eichel that simply isn't there. And everyone knows it.

Trading away important assets for a $10M player is daunting enough. Doing so for one with a neck injury that clearly everyone is afraid of, makes it near impossible.

Buffalo is better off holding onto Eichel until at least the next Trade Deadline, to see how he is and build his stock back up.

No one is giving away a Lafrenière, or a Byfield, or a Zegras, or whatever other major pieces the Sabres were asking for. Not while this potential neck surgery hangs overhead.

Even trying to acquire Eichel for half his Trade value, but then being potentially stuck with a $10M Lemon, isn't a wise choice.

Its a great deal for Buffalo. Give up a damaged player that doesn't want to be part of your organization anymore for Laffy, a good goalie and a top D prospect. Rangers say NO THANKS. Keep Jack and his bad neck.
