You say you have all these good centers, but neither Perfetti or Gustafsson are in this lineup. You're still signing a center in Haula for about the same price Stastny will command (evolving hockey projects his contract at 2mil), and Stastny is a better player even at 35 than Haula. I get not locking yourself into a center long term because you have those younger guys coming up. but you wouldn't be doing that with Stastny, he's 35. Probably just a one year deal. Why not re-sign the better player in Stastny to be your 3C and bump Lowry down to anchor a very good fourth line instead?

I sign Haula instead because he can also play winger I feel better than Stastny did this season when PLD came into the mix. Also Haula is more of a bottom 6 role player than Stastny. I also think that a team will sign Stastny for more than what I signed Haula at. I agree Stastny is the better player at 35 but Haula being 5 years younger it will give him a chance to be a part of the locker room for 2 seasons in my designed offseason. According to Paul Maurice's end of season media availability he talked alot about the culture in the room and how close it is. With that said my opinion is that Winnipeg will have to give players 1 or 2 extra years on contracts they offer UFA's. Perfetti and Gustafsson will get their chance at camp and I think they will be NHL roster players by the end of the year. But I think they won't make the opening day roster. Which is fine. Go play some top line minutes in the AHL.

Wild rather keep the good young developing player I'm Greenway whose also cheaper something wild need instead of trading him to a division rival for a player whose restricted,,& needs to get paid. Wild don't have the cap, & already need to pay kaprizov, Joel Eriksson Ek, & Fiala
