That is indeed fair. My preference would be boldy over fiala, but thats because I don't want to waste guys primes while we suck

That Pittsburgh first is incredibly late, I think I’d prefer an NHL ready prospect instead.

Honestly I think that makes a ton of sense for Buffalo. I just think Buffalo can be good in 3 years if they play their cards right and Fiala can still be entering his prime then.

In 3 years fiala will be 28 and be exiting his prime with a big contract

Not sure we could make it work if it weren't Fiala. We need the cap space to fit Eichel.

I think it's a bit much for Eichel but I wouldn't be all that surprised if something like this happened.

How about a 3 way?
Carolina gets Fiala
Minny gets Eichel
Buffalo gets assets from both teams

I like when players get signed from 24-32 for 8 years tbh. You get all of their primes and make sure you aren’t stuck with a 28 year old Great player who you’re conflicted if you wanna trade for cheap, let him walk or having to sign him to a bad contract (EK, OEL, etc)

I think it works but if you need more cap space maybe you switch out Dumba for Fiala

As you can see above , they’d still have to trade both Dumba and Fiala to make the cap work

My tunnel vision for the Sabres...my thinking was the Sabres need a RHD

Depends on what the other assets are I guess, but I think Fiala would thrive in Carolina

I like this trade, I think it works, my only issue with this team is the right side defence looks pretty weak for a team wanting to contend.

Kinda agree. Maybe they can get back a good cheap RD back for Dumba.

Talbot and / or Soucy might end up having to be moved after the draft of they don't get selected by Seattle.

Why does this myth persist that a players prime is from 23 to 28? Every credible shred of evidence points to it being from 25-32. A player is just entering their apex at 23, but are still growing their game. Up unto the age of 25, once they are who they are going to be.

A key evident stat of this are the many late bloomers who don't really pop until they're 25-26. Power Forwards being a prime example of this.

There are many factors that can be attributed to regression and to why a player isn't performing up to expectations but they all tend to be mental or whatever situation they're in, and not necessarily physical. A player doesn't start physically regressing until age 30 and start the downward apex of their careers.

Maybe I just view it differently, but it doesn't make sense to me otherwise.

Would hate to lose Allison because he’s the closest thing to a sniper the Flyers have but this would be fair value wise.

Forwards hit prime 23-29
D-men hit prime two years later 25-31
