I think I would insert Fleury between Quick and Smith.

Of course a pens fan gets mad. I wouldn't play him over my 3rd string in D.C. He was good now he's not get over it. Like a Ryan Miller. This is great haha

There are 10 goalies on this list that are better than Fleury. Pretty sure you have 28 listed. Wow you suck at this determining value stuff. mhockey91 was pretty accurate in his statement. Save yourself the embarrassment. Just a sour caps fan cause his team can't make it out of the 2nd round. Typical.

A handful of them aren't better than better than Fleury, but not 10 that are better. Who do you think he's above? Because you'll be wrong on most of them.

The goalies better than Fleury are Lundqvist, Bob, Rask, Rinne, Price, Holtby, Quick, Murray, Bishop, and Dubnyk. That's it. Craw is pretty evenly matched and don't even try to argue Schneider cause he is one of the most overrated goalies in the league.

Fleury has always been very mediocre. If he wasn't on a great team he might be out of the league or at least a career backup.

What? He's easily the most underrated goalie in the league.

you are really blind if you think there is only 10 on that list better than him. im a mad bc im tired of pens fans over valuing every player on their roster..... you and mhockey should step out of 2010 and realize hes not the same goalie......i bet you think ray emery and anderson are amazing still

Let's talk about the Fleury of 2017. A 3.23 GAA. Impossible to trade without taking bad money back.

Well you didn't provide any valid points either so...
but if you want some valid points, fleury is one of the most winning active goalies in the league, one of the fastest goalies to get to 300 wins, he has a cup under his belt (can't really argue the 2nd one) he has two all star appearances, and for the past few seasons other then this one, he's been extremely reliable.

In his past 3 seasons his save percentage consists of:

9.15
9.20
9.21

And his GAA consist of:
2.37
2.32
2.39

Wins are:
39
34
35

All very respectable statistics. Not elite, but definitely starting goaltender worthy. Not to mention he's also a workhorse averaging around 60+ games a season. Yes this year he's struggling. But for the love of god can people quit jumping to this false narrative that his career is over and he's on this downfall and he's this terrible goalie when that is the furthest thing from true. In fact, fleury was very good to start the season. From about late November till now he's been in a huge mental slump and needs a change of scenery to get out of it. Fleury will once again prove to the world that he's a more then capable starting goaltender, he just won't be wearing a penguins uniform when he does that

Wins do not reflect on him just like cups do nt reflect on individual players. He got wins bc pens are stacked. And for all that look at opriks stats this year he's in the top 5 plus minus in the NHL so should I get a first rounder for him? That's how your logic looks to me. Fluery is a 32 year old back up w terrible stats and when his contract is up he'll be 35. He's in decline and any team that wants him could easily just get bishop which is an upgrade. And last years atat are irrelevant bc They aren't trading him last year ppl see him and what he's become this year and people are going to overpay for a goalie playing his worst hockey

No sense trying to have a knowledgeable hockey arguments with you. How can you say "last few years stats are irrelevant". He's proven to be consistent goalie but he's in a mental slump this year. Not a regression

Fluery has been an average goalie his entire career. He has benefited from some really good teams, but his save percentage has never been at the top of the list. He is always good for one weak goal, he makes bone headed plays on the puck, gives up huge rebounds. I've always like him playing on the team and the players seem to love him...However, it's time to move on from him and get what we can, if anything. I suppose another option would be to buy him out (if possible). He isn't likely to be involved in a blockbuster deal, unless there is a team that needs to get to the bottom of the salary cap. Fleury for a couple of late round picks might be more reasonable...especially with some of the other goalies that are there.

I agree. Fleury for some late round picks. No retained salary though

Mike Smith, Cam Talbot, Martin Jones, Scott freaking Darling lol. I get you're point, far too many Pens fans overvaluing Fleury's trade value, but I would see hes somwhere between 12-20 in goalies overall in the league. Certainly not below Scott Darling.
