STRONG pass on Gionta
Pass on a winger who has been a captain in both Buffalo and Montreal, has a Stanley Cup ring, will bring loads of experience, and has already 12 goals on the season?

Chicago really isn't giving up much so I can hear you there. I think the question is...Can he be the top 6 winger solution that they need? The answer is...No. So then why?

Pass because there are no left wingers on expiring deals who can do more than one of the Hawks rookies who have been playing fantastic. Also it's irrelevant that he's been a captain for two franchises as the Hawks have leadership who have won 3 cups.

Exo, I saw posts from others this morning with Chicago targeting Chicago and it looks good. You have many younger guys on this roster and he will be a stabilizing personality in that locker room and will help Toews, Kane, Hossa, etc keep the youngsters on track. Plus good scoring depth which you guys should know is good for playoffs.

Honeynut, read above about leadership on young roster. The fact is he can put up points in a bottom-6 role which is valuable for Cup runs and he comes pretty cheap

I like the TVR acquisition. I still believe that we need to dump Franson and get another top 4 defensive defenseman. Maybe take a shot at McNabb?
