Palmieri had no points against TB and was responsible for Gourde scoring the SHG - unless he signs for 2.5-3 mill x 1 , they should let him walk. The isles have enough 30+ year old forwards.

I dont think losing ebs for nothing is best case scenario. He's not untouchable, but he holds significant value.

I don't think Minnesota is a team that's going to want to take on a cap dump, with cap as tight as it is at the moment. The value here favors Minnesota, but they have a lot of obstacles to clear before we can even consider this. Can't you just buy him out? 2 years of an 833k cap hit isn't bad, you still clear 1.7M this summer.

I'm not sure when the buyout windows are. I guess worst case scenario, buying him out is something we could possibly tolerate if we're swapping a 6th for Bellows to do it. I guess, if Guerin even likes Bellows in the first place.

Why protect bellows if you’re just going to trade him

Koivula holds no value for Detroit. He's eligible for waivers and there are no open spots on the wing.

Komarov is also of very limited use for Detroit. A 2nd for dumping him may possibly be enough, depending on what else happens during the offseason, but there's no way you get anything back.

I was going to reply "so you don't lose him for nothing," and then I looked at the trade again and saw the return is a measly 6th rounder, so nevermind!

I would say just combine the Minny trade and Detroit trade and send it all to Detroit.
Might as well make that trade before the expansion draft and protect Eberle. Would probably lose Leddy but he could be replace via free agency or the youth coming up. Could also dangle Eberle as trade bait if you don't like your depth at LD.

Wild aren't taking on any cap dump. Wild cap space is important to them, & they have their own cap space problems with task contract

They aren't taking on another bad contract in Thomas hickey, & use a buyout needdx for Rask on him . Oh yeah, wild owner doesn't allow buyouts of players so it doesn't work

Wild have to resign kaprizov, Joel Eriksson Ek, & Fiala. Sorry but; Not Sorry. There's Zero chance wild take on Thomas hickey & his contract. Bellows doesn't move any needle

Koivula and Hickey are AHL players and useless for Detroit. Bellows is a sniper only and a defensive liability and I doubt he becomes a NHL player in Detroit. Eberle is the only player that would be useful to Detroit and they would have to waive someone else to keep him.

A very akward mess to do something with. A mid round pick for Eberle alone or him and Komarov for future considerations is the only thing I can see that would fit for Detroit. Wingers aren't a priority here right now.

It's likely a better option to find someone else to trade with.

I was thinking more just sending Komarov and hickey to Detroit with bellows and a second, bellows may not be a great prospect but I would take a chance on him if it meant only acquiring hickey and burying him in the minors.

Still doesn't work. It's two cap dumps that aren't useful for a 2nd and a borderline prospect that we'd have to waive.

If it was two 2nds I might do it, just for the picks, but Yzerman have gone public with not wanting cap dumps of players that aren't useful.

Bellows is waiver fodder next season, so he has 0 value to MN. He's not a lock to make the team out of camp with Kaprizov, Zucc, Foligno, Greenway, Fiala, Hartman, and Parise all on the roster and better (except maybe Parise, but MN is stuck with him). Boldy needs a spot, or at least a chance at a spot too.

Taking bad cap isn't something MN can afford, they need to dump cap themselves.
