Ok I agree that the Habs and Sabres aren't good partners for an Eichel deal but get real with your request I would only take 1 of those 3 + 2 or 3 1sts you are NOT getting more than that. Also with the whole Eichel secrecy you are not going to get anything near the original offer above. There is a reason Buffalo is not allowing teams to speak with Eichel right now, it may be because his prognosis is not good or it may just be something simple like they don't want to limit their return but whatever the reason it is causing GM's to get nervous

Buf will get a nice package for Eichel for sure. As mentioned probbaly not from the Habs. However, your firsts are very late, so not valued like a first in my opinion, and you have yourself losing Romanov to expansion anyway. So my proposition makes a ton of sense. Byron was only added to take some cap back. And we both know Suzuki or Caulfield need to be in the deal. That being said, all 4 pieces make sense. If you would rather Suzuki/Caulfield, Romanov, and 2 firsts ..... which it sounds like you're talking about, i'd be fine with that.

This is not my thread, and the guy who created it is not a Habs fan, so his opinion to let Romanov go to expansion is irrelevant and ridiculous. That's like me saying that the Sabres will let Quinn go to expansion! No I am not suggesting Suzuki/ Caufield plus Romanov and 2 firsts. I am flat out saying that you would only get ONE of Suzuki or Caufield or Romanov + 3 1sts all unprotected plus other smaller pieces to make cap work and balance the trade. All that said Zuke is proving he can be a 1 center and projects to be an 80-90 point player. Caufield is showing signs of being an elite scoring winger capable of putting up 30+ goals in his sleep. Romanov while missing from our current lineup for some bizarre coaching reason still shows he will be a top 4 D man in the very near future. It is extremely unlikely the Habs would part with any of those 3 without being able to speak with Eichel and his surgical team to be sure he can return to his previous level of play and considering that the Sabres are flat out refusing to let teams talk to Eichel you can forget any top players coming back.

Byron has had an impressive playoff run but that doesn't change the fact that he's got two seasons remaining on a bloated contract that greatly exceeds his current value.
No team will pay to acquire him. The HABS will be LUCKY if he is claimed off waivers - which he just cleared, THREE TIMES - February, March and April.
Sorry, but for 2 x $3.4M GM's can sign a much, much better player and they know it.
