Description
Feel free to mess with 4th line or spares how you feel. As a non Vegas fan I'm sure you disagree with me on something there. Vegas wants to win now, and they need to boost their team in order to do so. Here is one option.

Trades
1.
VGK
  1. Turris, Kyle
  2. 2021 1st round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
Edmonton moves on from the last year of Turris and gets a high end goalie.
EDM
  1. Fleury, Marc-André
Additional Details:
Vegas gets a 1st they can play with, and a depth guy in Turris, and save money
2.
VGK
  1. DeBrusk, Jake
  2. 2021 4th round pick (BOS)
  3. 2022 4th round pick (BOS)
Additional Details:
They get a high second rounder for Debrusk and a few picks.
BOS
  1. 2021 2nd round pick (NJD)
Additional Details:
Vegas likes gutsy. Debrusk is young, and this could be huge.
3.
VGK
  1. Kamenev, Vladislav [Reserve List]
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (COL)
Additional Details:
Not sure how big a Smith return is with his Salary. Third and an unlikely prospect isn't terrible.
4.
VGK
  1. 2021 2nd round pick (DAL)
  2. 2021 4th round pick (DAL)
Additional Details:
Dallas gets into the first round (or any other team with a first half or so 2nd rounder) for some prospect they want.
DAL
  1. 2021 1st round pick (VGK)
  2. 2022 7th round pick (VGK)
Additional Details:
For Vegas, they move down in a draft clouded with mystery. That mystery limits that 4th from being a 3rd, but more picks is always good.

Make the case as to how that trade makes the bruins a better hockey team.

If Edmonton is trading their first for MAF then Koskinen will have to be included imo. Can't see them losing their first and spending over 10mil on the goalie position

COL and VGK aren’t trading but the value is more than fair.

Couple thing worth noting: The 2nd is NJ, which inherently makes it higher value than if it were VGK's own. The 2nd fourth may have been too much, but seems clear DeBrusk is heading somewhere else, and that Boston doesn't see an incredible future with him, whether that is right or wrong. If Boston isn't careful, this could definitely limit their potential return. But can definitely see the frustration on this trade.

First round picks inherently have less value to many teams this year, since the draft is more of a crapshoot than ever before. Typically, I'd agree, but the difference between the first and second is less this year than it ever has been. A normal year, Vegas nets more.

Ya know what? Very valid point. Saves Vegas from needing Halak. I agree, if I were to fix it that dump would be there.

Sakic is the type of guy who I think would be willing to. He seems smart enough. Refusing to trade with teams is kinda dumb imo.

The pick doesn't really do anything to help Boston win now though. Also the "seems clear DeBrusk is heading somewhere else" is a narrative thrown out by other fanbases. A down year plus a guy whose name rumored to be available and it turns into "he's fallen out of favor in Boston" or "Boston is looking to move DeBrusk" and that's simply isn't the case. Could they move him? sure and if there is a deal that makes them better they'll do it, but they're not reaching out to other teams trying to move him. His value is at an all time low and he's worth more to Boston than what they most likely get on the market. If things continue to go down hill, his value can't get any lower than it is already.

Oh I agree whole heartedly, but so many teams refuse to trade to division or conference rivals.

One report is from Dennis Bernstein, who called him a probable "Goner". An NHL scout agreed he was definitely "out there", but of course that is far less committal. Nothing is for sure with rumors in this league, but he was even scratched at various points from what I can remember. The interest is definitely POSSIBLE, but I kind of took it as true for the purposes of this, since every piece of a armchair GM is purely speculation. And honestly, I could see them just turning around and flipping it for say.. Conor Garland?

Never heard of Bernstein.

Chances are, his job is to generate clicks, or listens, or follows. To do that, he comes up with crackpot theories.

Normally a better course of action is logic:
Debrusk is capable of being a really good player, he’s young, and just had a down year during a shortened pandemic season without a real off season and no pre season.
His value is lower than its ever been.

That sound like a trade to you?

Senior writer for Fourth Period Magazine. I think he also does stuff for SiriusXM in sports, but that I am iffy on.

Valid, and again, it is all pure speculation, and speculation I have chosen to follow for the purposes of this mock. And sometimes, those trades are made. Depends on faith within the locker room from Sweeney and Cassidy, something neither you or I truly know. Teams have made similar mistakes before..
