Why would Flames take Krieder? That isn't even close

Wow these trades are really lopsided. Also Seattles not going to take DeAngelo since he is 100% being bought out

These wouldn't get accepted even in NHL 21, you're going to need to add a lot.

The same reason you want Perfetti on the Rangers is the reason why the Jets don't trade him. Quality over quantity.

As a Jets fan that’s a good offer. Schneider, while a few years off, could very well be that RHD we need long term and he has absolutely rocketed up the rankings since being drafted and is just behind Heinola. Barron was looking awesome in college and the 22’ 1st, could be a very good pick in a really deep draft.
I seriously consider this as it could literally set the Jets up for a decade.

The RHD that I believe would get the Jets considering it would be the Rangers' best RHD prospect, Nils Lundkvist, who has a higher ceiling and is much closer than Schneider to being ready. Schneider wouldn't push the conversation beyond pleasantries.

Comparing Schneider to Nils is like comparing apples to oranges. Nils is a right handed Heinola. Schneider I see more as a Pulock/Parayko type defender which is what we really need. We have enough undersized defenders, we need a big, cycle breaking, puck moving defender.

The crux of the problem is when does Cheveldayoff want to try to win. If he were to trade Perfetti, he should target someone that can help them now/next year, as opposed to shipping him off for someone who is "a few years off". Scheifele has 3 years, Hellebuyck 3 years, and Ehlers has 4 years left in their affordable deals so the relative cap flexibility they have now will be going away once they are in line for raises. I doubt Cheveldayoff makes it to the end of Ehlers contract if they haven't made a substantial run in the playoffs by then.

I don’t disagree, but to settle for another undersized defender when it really doesn’t fix our long term problem is just kicking the can down the road. We need a big, puck moving defender who can break the cycle and who can play all situations while eating big minutes, and I don’t think Nils is it!
I don’t see Hamilton signing here, I don’t see Parayko being traded within the division, Pulock is a pipe dream, Pesce is on too good of a contract to let go, Manson won’t waive, neither will Schmidt along with an untold amount of others. There is no player of that sort coming here via free agency or a player of that type who can contribute now being traded here this off season, and I don’t want to settle for more of what we already have. If it takes another year to develop a guy like Schneider, so be it.

There is no point in Cheveldayoff trading Perfetti for Schneider, he'll be out of a job before anything productive comes out of it and he knows it. The Rangers just aren't a good trading partner.

Definitely agree on that, but I think that would be more indicative (him being let go) of his inaction to address our deficiencies the last few years. Between PoMos refusal to play and integrate young players and Chevys hell bent goal of making ELCs slide and nabbing players like Benn as stop gaps, they have narrowed our window more than anything else.

Agreed. Chevy and PoMo have definitely squandered their opportunities. Chevy's now operating on borrowed time so he can't really do futures trades as much as I'm sure he wants to. Then again, if Chipman wants Chevy to be his David Poile -- win lots of regular season games but only have one very good playoff run in 20+ years -- then so be it.
