Vegas has to include Krebs. Tuch and Stephenson would be great if the Sabres were headed to the playoffs, not so much in a rebuild

Have to think Krebs and/or Korczak would be included. Maybe Tuch could go for cap purposes or maybe you trade a goalie and get a 3rd team involved

A bit too much $$ heading back to Buff. If they're dealing Eichel, they're not taking more than 4-5 mil back in return.

Swap Tuch + Carrier with Hague.

But then you're over the cap so you'll need to trade at least one of Smith/Marchessault/Fleury separately without retaining or taking any cap back. That's basically the only way VGK can reasonably acquire Eichel.

Not sure why you edited it to add Krebs. Now it's a pretty sizable overpay.

Feel like Smith, Glass, Krebs, and a 1st is a good trade. I don't think a 2nd is necessary. Maybe one more player for cap adjustment. Not Stephenson or Tuch.

That's....not going to do it.

Tuch + Glass + Hague + 1st + 2nd just about gets it done.

Someone of Krebs caliber doesn't enter a deal like this unless Eichel demonstrates he's healthy - which is the case with basically any top prospect that Buff fans want. If they're trading him when he's hurt - and potentially career endingly hurt - (and they basically have to because of the grievance situation that they're trying to avoid) then Eichel's not returning anyone on that Krebs/Rossi/Kakko/Dach tier.

But then Vegas is over the cap frown

If I take out the 1st, would things be more fair?

Not really... top prospects carry a premium.

As we said, basically the only way you get it done is with multiple deals. One to clear cap and another to acquire Eichel. It's not easy enough to do all of that in 1 trade.

Agree, I saw 1 where the Sabres took on half of Fleury's cap to send him out to a 3rd team, and that can work as well
