Quoting: TrueCanuck
OldNYIFan I know my opinion on this, just thought I should check with you since you're the "knowledgeable and experienced one" on here.
Like everyone else who's commented here, and virtually all of my Ducks and Kings colleagues, I'm convinced that virtually every package non-SoCal fans present for Eichel is too much.
The problem with Anaheim and Los Angeles getting Eichel, entirely apart from the injury issue which I believe precludes a prudent Eichel acquisition before at least the halfway point of the season, is that the Ducks have the motive but not the surplus assets to make such a trade sensible, while the Kings have the surplus assets, but not really the motive, what with Kopitar still playing at his high level and Byfield, Turcotte and perhaps Vilardi (whom I think may be better at RW) in the pipeline. Anaheim's future pool is pretty shallow; once you strip away several of Comtois, Zegras, Drysdale, Gibson and the third overall pick in this year's draft, what's left to play with Eichel is just going to look like Buffalo 2.0 for several years, which isn't going to make anyone (including Eichel) happy.
Thank you for asking.
